The HALO Cafe from the outside may seem to some as just another location feeding
those in need. But for those who have either been our guest in the Cafe or
volunteered their time to serve in it, they know this is the farthest from the
truth.
Yes, nutritional dinners are served 365 nights a year, between the hours of 6:00
and 7:00 PM. Yes, the guests are full and smiling when they walk out of the
doors. But what happens in between the time the guests walk in and walk out, is
what makes the HALO Cafe unique.
Conversations and relationships are what bring the many smiles to the guests
faces and keeps them coming back. It is during their meal that the HALO
volunteers get to know the guests. "How was your day?" and "I prayed for you
last night" can often be overheard.
For the guests, it is knowing that someone loves them and cares enough about
them to inquire about their well being that keeps them coming back.
If you have not had the opportunity to visit the HALO Cafe, we would be honored
if you would join us on Sunday, April 11 for the Cafe Dedication and Ribbon
Cutting which will take place at the Cafe starting at 2:00 PM.

Fill My
Cup Easter Dinner
On Easter Sunday, HALO volunteers joined with over 75 guests in celebrating
Jesus's resurrection at our Easter Fill My Cup Dinner.
Over 125 volunteers, including waiters, bread girls and drink servers, did a
great job providing the full traditional Easter dinner to our guests.
Following the dinner, a program dedicated to the true meaning of Easter, was
shared with all. Hymns were sung and a powerful message was shared by Scott
Bryant. Additionally, two Code Blue guests blessed the attendees; one shared her
testimony, while the other shared a song that she had written to worship
our Savior.

Is God leading you to serve in our community? Why not consider becoming a
HALO volunteer.
You have always been a very important person, especially in God's eyes. However,
as a volunteer at HALO, we like to refer to you as a VIP - Volunteer Impact
Partner.
You see, in whatever capacity you serve in, whether you pick up furniture for
the Bargain Center or serve meals with HALO on the Street, you will have an
impact on our guests for eternity.
Our volunteers have shared with us that knowing who HALO is, what we do, how we
do it and why, has greatly enhanced their volunteer experience.
Sunday, April 18, 2010 from
119 South Boulevard, Suite B
On the corner of Eastern Shore Drive and South Boulevard in the Harvest Center
We hope to see you there.
